My Makeup Collection

{mymakeupcollection.tumblr.com}

So I am finally joining the rest of the world and made an Instagram. I plan to post random fotds or eye-of-the-day’s and stuff like that, as well as random stuff people do on instagram, idk. If you want to stay in touch with me better than this blog, you can follow me: it is kkerwell :)

Anonymous asked: I love your FOTD's keep them up! :)

Thank you so much! I am trying my best to keep up with this blog! ;)

chair-hurling asked: Hi! I saw you use the Anastasia clear brow gel...I was wondering if you've found any negatives about it? I read some of the reviews on it and people (usually with oily skin) have been saying it dries and gets flaky (like dandruff) and was wondering if that happened to you? I'm debating between the Anastasia gel and E.L.F.'s eyebrow/eyelash gel. Thanks :)

Sometimes I do notice a few flakes, especially if I itch my eyebrow area. My skin is mostly pretty dry so I’m not sure if it only happens to oily skin. It’s not bad enough where I would stop using it and I still really like the product. Hope that helps! :D

FOTD: Classic Beauty

Last tutorial was all about being glowy, soft, and sweet. Today is kind of the opposite. I’m going for more matte and for a more “classic beauty.” That means winged eyeliner and a red lip. I really like the end result of this tutorial and it is fairly easy to achieve. Like I said in the last post, these tutorials were filmed about a month ago so I am trying to catch up. Let’s get started!

I started by priming my face. I used bareMinerals Prime Time face primer. I honestly only used this because I am running out of primer samples and I need to get it together and buy a full size primer.

For my foundation I used Revlon Colorstay for a long lasting finish.

I concealed my under eye area and any blemishes with Benefit’s Boiing concealer. I am the lightest shade.

I lightly set any areas I concealed with my bareMinerals powder concealer. It is really easy to use too much of this so I made sure to use a very small amount.

I’m going for a more matte look to my skin today so I used Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. This is one of my favorite powders to use.

I did a bit more of a heavy contour compared to what I usually do. I used my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer in Milk Chocolate.

I primed my eyes with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion in Original.

I took a matte white eyeshadow and applied that all over my lid. Any matte white will do, I used the one from the Meet Matte Nude palette.

I took MAC’s Wedge eyeshadow and applied that into the crease and blended it out. I also applied it under the eye.

I took the color Matt Smith from the original Meet Matte palette. It is just a matte nudey beige color and I used that under the brow bone and to slightly blend the edges of where I put wedge.

I filled in my brows using the color Sleek from the Nude Tude palette. Yes it looks dark and weird without any more eye makeup but I promise it looks good at the end.

I used a clear brow gel to set my brows. I used Anastasia clear brow gel.

I did want a little bit of brightness to the eye so I used a shimmery white on the inner corner. I used Sassy from the Nude Tude palette.

I applied matte liquid liner to my upper lash line and I winged it out. I used theBalm’s Schwing matte liquid liner.

Then we have a quest appearance from Lillian :)

I ran some black eyeshadow right under my eye and smudged it out a little. I used Serious from the Nude Tude palette.

I curled my real lashes and applied some fake lashes. I honestly do not remember which pair of eyelashes I used. I think it was a pair from Devu Cosmetics.

I applied mascara to blend my real lashes with the false ones. I also applied it to my bottom lashes. I used Maybelline Illegal Length mascara.

On my cheeks I used NYX’s Mauve powder blush. I kept the color more in the hollows and blended with the bronzer instead only on the apples of the cheeks.

I wanted a tad bit of brightness to the face so I applied just a touch of ELF Mineral Booster in Shimmer. The shimmer in this is not huge and there isn’t a lot of it so it was just a nice touch of brightness.

I filled in my lips with MAC’s Beet lip liner.

I topped the lip liner with Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in #11. This is my favorite red to wear.

I set everything with Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.

The look is complete! It is a simple but glamorous look to achieve. I get a lot of compliments when I wear my makeup like this. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

FOTD: Sweet & Soft

Hey everyone! Yes I have been gone for awhile but I haven’t forgotten about this blog. Thanks to those of you who stick around through these hiatuses, I really appreciate you :) Anyway, I took the pictures for these tutorials awhile ago so I’m going to pump out these blog posts to catch up to more recent ones I have ready and waiting. This look is a really really simple look to achieve. It is very soft and sweet (hence the title). This look is definitely one that beginners could try. Let’s get started!

I primed my face with Benefit’s That Gal brightening face primer. I wanted a bit of a glow to my skin so I chose this primer because it is “brightening.”

I didn’t want really full coverage so for my foundation I used Revlon Nearly Naked foundation and I am the lightest shade.

I concealed my under eye area and any blemishes with Benefit’s Boiing and I am the lightest shade. This concealer is full covered so I used a very small amount and a sponge to really blend it out to look natural.

I set everything with Revlon PhotoReady finishing powder in 001 Translucent with a big fluffy brush for a light application. I chose this powder because it has the tiniest amounts of shimmer in it.

For my bronzer I used Jane Oil-Free Bronzing Powder in 09 Sahara. This bronzer is shimmery so I didn’t use it as a contour, I just lightly applied it to the cheeks and very lightly on my temples. I did this just for a sweep of natural looking color with a glowy finish.

I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin.

The palette I will be mostly using today is an ELF Brightening Eye Color quad in Silver Lining. First I took the light pink eyeshadow and applied it all over the lid and brought it into the crease and blended it out. The color isn’t very pigmented so it is just a soft wash of pink over the lids.

Next I took the gray color and applied it to the outer side of my lids and brought it into the crease. I also applied this under the eye.

I used the white shade and highlighted the inner corner of my eye and very lightly under the brow bone.

Then I used a basic black eyeliner and lined the upper lash line. I kept it as close to the lashes as I could. The line doesn’t have to be very precise or even because we will be blurring it out with eyeshadow soon. The eyeliner I used it bareMinerals Round the Clock waterproof eyeliner in Midnight. I also lined the very outer part of my lower lash line.

I took a pencil brush and black eyeshadow and ran it over the line I made with the eyeliner. You can make the line as diffused as you wish, as thick as you wish, etc. I just ran it over the line until I was pleased with the look. I also used the black eyeshadow under the eye where I placed the eyeliner. Any black eyeshadow will do, I used the one from my Balmbini Vol. 2 palette.

I lined the water line with a white eyeliner because I wanted a bright eyed effect. I used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.

I curled my lashes and applied mascara. I used Maybelline Illegal Length mascara.

I lightly filled in my brows with ELF’s Eyebrow Kit in Dark.

On my cheeks I used Prestige Skin Loving Minerals Fresh Glow Baked Mineral Blush in 01 Pink (wow that’s a long name). I chose this blush because it is a sweet pink color and because it has a bit of a glow to it so I didn’t have to add a highlight as well.

On my lips I first applied a pink lip stain. I used Revlon Just Bitten in the color Desire. I topped that off with a gloss and I used Buxom Lips plumping lip gloss in the color Katie. The combination creates a shiny sweet pink lip.

The look is complete! I had a little trouble getting a good picture to show the entire finished product because of lighting but I will post a few different so you can hopefully get the hint.

As you can see this look is very simple to do and very wearable. It is nice and soft with no harsh lines or colors. My next tutorial will kind of be the opposite and will be more matte with red lips. Thank you all for reading and supporting my blog! I hope you enjoyed!

Upcoming posts!

I took pictures today for two different prom looks and one ELF haul! MY camera was dead so I didn’t get to do my dupe pictures yet but hopefully I will have time after work tomorrow! So now I just have to sit down and type these posts up, I will probably spread them out over the week.

Small Updates!

So today I had a day off and I spent all day searching through my collection for dupes for the more expensive eyeshadow palettes that I own. I have a list made, I just need to wait until tomorrow when the sun is out again to take the pictures for it! So be prepared for that I am pretty proud of myself!!

Also, it is now prom season so I thought about doing some “prom” looks but I’m not sure if my followers are interested in that. Let me know!

Love you guys!!!

Another Haul

I am really running out of titles for these lol. I have been compiling some stuff that I ordered and some that was gifted to me so this post would be worthwhile. Since I have a job I can buy things again yayyy. (BTW again it was a day off and I did absolutely nothing to get ready so SORRY)

Let’s start with the Lorac Pro Palette! I ordered it from Sephora online and it cost $42. It comes with 16 different eyeshadows and a mini tube of the Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. The top row is all matte finish shadows and the bottom row is all shimmer finish. I got inspired to try this palette by Rachel Whitehurst /87daysbefore /icallitambrosia. I do not regret buying it at all. I think the eyeshadow formula is probably my favorite that I have tried so far. The eyeshadows are so nicely pigmented and so easy to blend. The color selection is a nice variety but stays on the neutral side. It is also a but cheaper than other comparable palettes so that is always a plus.  Overall I just love this palette and it is currently a favorite.

In the same Sephora order I also got this Benefit Boi-ing concealer. It claims to be industrial strength but I haven’t used it enough to really agree or disagree with that claim. I got it in the lightest shade but I think it may be just a tad dark for my skin, nothing too noticeable.

So before I placed my order I always google coupon codes and usually retailmenot is a reliable source. I found one for if you spend I think it was $25 you could get free deluxe samples of bareMinerals stuff. So with my order I got a bareMinerals Ready SPF 20 Foundation and the lightest color you could pick from is Fairly Light. I would definitely need something lighter than this if I were to buy a full size. In my last tutorial I used this and explained how I make it work with my skin. There is a fairly decent amount of product in this for it being free. I also got the bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer in a little tube. The primer feels nice and light but I notice it does nothing with my dry skin.

Next is gonna be some MAC stuff I got as Easter presents. It is only 2 things but it is my first MAC blush and first MAC eyeshadow! The blush I got is a Sheertone powder blush in the color Peaches. In my last tutorial it is my first time ever using it. I really like it so far and I can’t wait to use it more. I think it is a really nice color for spring.

The eyeshadow I got is a matte finish powder eyeshadow in the color Wedge. I broke it a little on accident but it was my fault. I haven’t had a chance to wear this on my eyes yet but I have seen it in action online and I like the swatch of it on my hand. I plan to use it as a midtone color to blend out crease colors.

The next few items will just be random purchases I made online or in store. This one I made in store at the place I work. I got this bareMinerals  Concealer in the color Well-Rested. I only have used this once so far and that was in my last tutorial. I am going to try it by itself next time to see how it holds up on its own instead of just setting a cream concealer with it.

I picked up this new Maybelline Vivids lipstick in the color 875 Vivid Rose at Target last night. I really wanted to try the coral color but the only one they had left was an open one that was very clearly used. That is seriously so annoying, if you are someone who does that please stop!! Anyway, this is a really bright fuchsia color and I am excited to try it and see how long lasting it is.

The final item in this haul is this Z-Palette! I got the large black one. It comes with a little baggie of magnets just in case the eyeshadows aren’t magnetized or whatever. I have a few eyeshadow pans coming in the mail to start filling this up! I am not interested in depoting my existing eyeshadows and stuff, I just want to buy the refill pans because it is cheaper.

That is all for this random haul! I got some pretty exciting stuff. Next haul will be all of my theBalm stuff that I purchased during the huge sale. Speaking of sales, Devucosmetics.com is having a 30% off sale. I was going to get some stuff but the shipping made it not worth it to me. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!!

FOTD: Featuring the Lorac Pro palette!

Yay for my first tutorial in like weeks! Usually on my days off I sit in the house with no makeup and glasses and minimal clothing and clean but yesterday we had a ton of errands to run so I decided it is time to do a  tutorial again! This is a neutral look using (mostly) the Lorac Pro palette!! I am loving this palette right now. I have a haul type post lined up that will explain more on that and other things. I did add a bit of drama with some lashes but overall kept the face pretty neutral. Let’s get started!

image

image

This is the palette I am using today! The Lorac Pro palette! Like I said, I will explain more on this in another post that I should have typed up sometime today. All I will say now is the bottom row are shimmer and the top is matte.

image

Now my face makeup routine is under construction right now. I am not into any of my current foundations right now. They are either too dark now, or not flattering to my current battle with dry skin. So this is what I am doing currently while I wait for things to arrive in the mail so blah.

Anyway, I started by priming my face with this bareMinerals Prime Time foundation primer. I got this free with a Sephora order, again I will explain more in my haul post.

image

Since I am going to be using a powder foundation I am going to apply my concealer first. I am using Benefit’s Boing “industrial-strength concealer” in the lightest color. This is also new to me and I have only used it a few times. I applied this to my under eye area and to blemishes on my face.

image

I set the under eye concealer with this bareMinerals concealer in Well-rested. This was my first time using it so I need to use it more to have an opinion.

image

For foundation I am using this bareMinerals Ready SPF 20 Foundation in the color N10 Fairly Light. I also got this free with my Sephora order so again I will explain this more in another post. This is a deluxe sample size and it is my temporary foundation for like a week or so. It is a little bit too yellow for my skin but I really buff it in and take a clean brush and swipe the excess off to make it work.

image

I lightly contoured my face with my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer.

image

I primed my eye with my poor little tube of Urban Decay Primer Potion. I am trying to use up all my sample sizes before I open up my full size one I got for Christmas. This one is on its way out.

image

I took the color Lt. Bronze and applied that all over my lids.

image

Then I took the color Pewter and applied that to the outer corner of my lids and into the crease. I really blended it out and up towards the brow bone. I also applied it to under my eye.

image

I highlighted the brow bone and light blended out the edge of the crease color with the color Champagne.

image

I deepened the crease and outer V with the color Espresso. I blended it out. I also applied it to the very outer part of under my eye.

image

I highlighted the inner corner with the matte white color simply called White,

image

Jumping to theBalm’s Nude Tude palette, I used the color Sleek to fill in my brows.

image

I applied a clear brow gel to keep my eyebrows in place. I used my little Anastasia clear gel.

image

I applied liquid eye liner and created a wing. I used Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in Matt Black.

image

I used the matte black in the Lorac Pro palette named Black and an angled brush and applied it tightly to my lower waterline and smudged it out a bit.

image

I curled my lashes in preparation to apply false ones.

image

I applied the false lashes using Duo Lash Glue. I used Red Cherry brand lashes I am not sure on what pair.

image

I applied mascara to blend my real lashes with the fake ones. I also applied it to my lower lashes. I used Maybelline Illegal Length mascara.

image

I applied blush to my cheeks. I wanted a bit of a pop of color since everything else is neutral. I used MAC Peaches blush.

image

I decided to go with a nude lip because I was just in the mood for that. You could easily do a bright light since the eyes are completely neutral. I used theBalm Balm Girls Lipstick in Mai Billsbepaid. It is 100% my favorite nude lipstick.

image

I set everything with a setting spray. I used my mini tube of Urban Decay All Nighter spray.

image

image

image

The look is complete! It is a very simple everyday look. You could spice it up with a different lip color or you could make it less dramatic by leaving off the false lashes. I love the Lorac Pro palette so it will probably be in some more future tutorials. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
